This Girl has Power tools and a helper (Weekend Projects)
On Saturday we created a Nesting Home... Kind of like a dog house for the chickens to set in and get out of the rain... Note to self, as it get finished it gets heavier so next time build close to where it goes. When it was done, I had to back up the truck to it, hoist it in the truck and move it down to the chicken pen.
Well done!
Great job and your helper is so cute and his dog looks like it has a lot of boxer in it.
Roseane, you and Billy never cease to amaze me. Talk about a dynamic duo. Bat man and Robin have nothing on you too. What at great job. Looks like you have the turken and the dog's approval. Two thumbs up on a job well done...Hay
Thanks Mr Haystack, I must be Robin cause Billy wants to be Batman for Halloween and found him a cool outfit today..LOL it was a good weekend, lots of laughter and teamwork.
Green, Roper is a English Mastif and Bloodhound mix.. I grew up with Boxers, love the breed, and when Roper came along, they are known for protecting the family and pets. When Billy goes off, Roper follows, if we take off in different directions Roper will look both ways till I tell him to follow Billy. I love that dog and it is a great match for Billy. He helps me feed every morning, right by my side.
LOL! I know just what you mean in learning to build or assemble heavy projects as close a possible to the final site. Of course it took me a double hernia and a torn abdominal muscle to learn, but eventually I got the picture! And learned to ask for help (not an easy leason for me) .... and a fork lift!
lol, this girl has power tools. You go girl! Good job!
Sarge is your coop built on skids?
Awsome little helper you have there MissJ. I pray you 2 are always as close through out your lives as you are now. You have something very special
Yes It is 4 X 4's and Set up on cap Blocks so i can move it to a new area and fresh grass the run area will be movable also.
Sarge
Ha, I could never build a thing. I will be lucky if a get a coop kit and can get that together by myself. I figgure I will need help to even get that done. Great job you and Billy did there.
Great job MissJ and Billy. Way to go.
Sarge great job on yours too.
Thank you Sandy and Newyorkrita,
We now have the roof on and the insides done along with the nest boxes done, its ready to paint the rest of it and put the porch on, and put the swing up and install the yard woo hoo .
Sarge
Awesome job MsJestr & Sarge, Wow! Your chickens are gonna love it!
I was a wimp building the chicken tractor. I found someone who had lots of scrap wood and had already built several for their own chickens - so for $75 we have a new tractor (all recycled parts) and I have all my fingers intact!
Good Job Annie B,
I wish I could say the same thing about my fingers. LOL Yesterday while pitting up the facial board under the roof edge at the rafters I was using little Nails and my big fingers got in the way , Needless to say I whacked the "Wrong Nail" Several times (the Thumb) and it Broke the Nail down the center and into the edge of my thumb. looks like after hitten it once I would have learned But NOOO! I had to Do it Several times Just to Make sure I had Learned my Lesson ;(( it is Purple and swollen now , But Hay I wont Be Hitten it any time soon i dont even get my thumb close to the hammer right now that it dont throb ! LOL
Sarge
OUCH, Sarge! It hurts to even read about your poor thumb. Yup, staying away from the hammer sounds like a good idea for a while. Take care of your thumb!
Having done the thumb smasher thing many times I now hold all little nails or staples in pliers. It doesn't improve my aim but they hold up to the pounding better.
I have done that with a hammer also more than once. LOL
Thanks everyone, and Way to go Sarge, that is a good looking crew you have out there..
I need to make another coop, something with a little yard they can go out in.... I cant let them run loose, I am running out of room and the dog run that I have is just not working out I want to get all my colored layers together... hummmm any suggestions?
