Forsythias have always caught my eye in spring when they do their thing but other than that I have never paid them much attention. Now I have a friend with one in her entryway with a lot of red in the foliage. It is really quite attractive. I am wondering if this is a particular species or cultivar of forsythia or if they commonly have this reddishnes about them. I noticed some new branches from the base looking totally green as I would expect. Anybody know?
Reddish leaved forsythia
Mine hasn't turned yet. I can't remember but I think they do turn a little. My snowball bush and the witch hazel are both really pretty this time of year.
Oh, they turn, as in fall coloring? Maybe that's it. I saw this bush for the first time just last week. There was nothing in plantfiles about a reddish colored forsythia so that must be it. Thanks Willow
I was shown a forsythis "Show off" that is known to be reddish leaved. Maybe this is it.
