At a going out of business sale in Bastrop I purchased two fo these small trees/bushes and was told it was vitex, but upon research, the leaves do not resemble any vitex variety I saw. Is it really vitex? If not, what is it?
I was told this is a vites. Were they right?
oops. Just waw that I mispelled Vitex in the thread name, sorry!
Tonya, I do think it is a type of Vitex, but can't tell you which kind.

Here is a photo of my blue/purple vitex, it was started from a cutting.
Chaste tree/vitex agnus-castus I believe.
Forgive my color description I am red/green color vision challenged and have meltdowns what I am forced to identify colors.. My pink/almost white vitex has smooth edged leaves rather than serrated leaves leaf edges of the purple/blue. Whatever. I do not know if the leaf edges are important. I hope this helps.
It think Metrosideros nailed it from the photo .
