Can I cook BROCCOLI RAAB leaves?

Irving, TX(Zone 8a)

This year I am planting BROCCOLI RAAB for the first time. Right now they look beautiful.
They have huge green leaves and I was wondering if I can cut the leaves and cook them while I wait for the little Broccoli to appear?
Any suggestins?

Yes. Traditionally broccoli rabe is cooked whole with the leaves and steams. Its the same plant as mustard (Brassica rapa) so the taste will be sharper than broccoli.

Thanks dlbailey. My Broccolis are not formed yet ... that's why I was asking if I can eat the leaves already.
I am worry that if I cut the leaves, the plant will not produce broccolis.
