It was a great day! Lots of new folks. Lots of old folks (meaning returning members). Lots of great food. Lots of great plants and plant talk.

fun pictures!
I also learned the definition of a bog today. It's a low spot in your yard where the water stands after it rains!
Great Pictures Stephanie, I will post some tomorrow, too tired today, but we sure had a great time as usual.
Nice pictures, Stephanie! Thanks for posting.
Looks like you all had a wonderful time and such great weather. Wish I would have been there. Decided not to come because I didn't have anything to trade but after seeing the photos, wish I would have attended just for visiting. I'm sure I could have learned a lot about what I should be planting in my new butterfly garden area that is finally ready.

Why do people think they must have plants to to trade, if they go to a swap? Plants are always second to being around plant friends. I was so excited yesterday, that I woke up at 3:30 and could not go back to sleep. It was not the plants I was getting that go me so excited, it was plant people.
Nice pictures, they will help us keep the memories, thanks.
So true! Kenboy, I hope your memories of my drink violently spilling out while it was tucked under my arm doesn't scar you too much! Great pictures Stephanie. My friend's name is Carol. I had to laugh at the picture b/c she is tiny and is carrying a huge box.
Joesphine, Frank and Sheila THANKS SO MUCH! I had a great time and so did my guest!

Why did I think this RU was to be Oct.23? Old-timers catching up with me, I guess. I have had it wrong all along. Would've, could've been there yesterday. whhhaaaaa.
LouC,
The RU in East Texas is on the 23rd.
We always tell people to come on even if you don't have plants to trade. It's worth the visit and I can guarantee you that you will NOT leave empty handed! My favorite part of the day is to see folks walking around peddling their plants. It's amazing what you come home with! LOL
Looks like I missed a great time! I've been to enough of them to KNOW I missed a great time. Glad y'all had fun looks like there was a good turn-out too!
Christi, you need to get on the Texas forum more often, then you would know.
I even wished you a Happy Birthday on the (Texas Forum) since you said that you couldn't come because it was your birthday.
Oh well, that is life I guess.
Josephine.
Thanks for picture thread Stephanie! It was a fun time, we had 32 adults (members and guests) and 6 kiddos.... and loads and loads of plants.
Not as many people as we have had in the past, but we got to really visit more with each other. Like Ken said....that is the best part! I haven't even looked at pictures Herman took yet....so post them later.
Christi....When we were at the bf farm....and mentioned it, I guess none of us said "tomorrow"! Sorry wish we would have.
Brenda, Michael and others that were there for the first time....We do hope you will join us in the Spring too. Just keep checking on the Texas Forum and you will see it.
Plano Linda.... Yes you get the award for all plants in the ground on the day!! I didn't have the energy to do anything but unload and water. But then Herman doesn't help with plants so I was tired before I came!

I'm definitely hitting the Spring RU! Just had too much "catching up" after Saturday to make it out there on Sunday. I keep checking out the pictures to see what plants I missed! Looks like you all had a fun time. I'll be propagating lots of things this winter and will bring some butterfly goodies in Spring.

I had a wonderful time too, but was very tired when I got home.
I was great to meet out new members and see our old friends, it is always an exciting time.
I am already looking forward to the next one.
Josephine.
Great Dale, you will be hooked after coming to one. It is so much fun getting to meet everyone face to face and sharing a pot luck lunch; the plants are icing on the cake!
I tried to motivate myself to do some yard work today. Got some tacky stuff cut back and did a wee bit of weeding in a bed I need to plant some of my goodies in. But that is about as far as I got. It is really busy with Monarchs now. I had six on one full size 6-7 foot frostweed alone, of course I didn't take my camera out there. It seems they like to hang around in the semi-shaded backyard for nectar.

So true! No one wants to take back what they bring.
Thanks to everyone who helped arrange and run the event! My dad and I had a good time, as always. Sorry we had to run off so quickly after the drawing, but my dad went out of town early this morning and he wanted to get his stuff in the ground before he left.
I still have to re-size my pictures and then post them so it may be a while before I can get it done, but I will.
Yes, we had a great time -- me and the kids! My husband couldn't believe I brought home so many plants (over 80) and wonders how I got them and the kids in the van. (Where there is a will, there is a way!)
Now I need to do some research to figure out where things go and then get started! Such fun!
Thanks to everyone! I feel like a princess in the Garden of Eden. . .Okay, maybe not that grand, but close!

Stephanie, I just got in from my nightly garden walk, and I FINALLY have some lemon cukes! I picked the first one, and it was very tasty - not bitter at all. I'm glad I didn't give up on it like my dad did... :)
Is anyone missing plants, or maybe got home and have some plants that hitch-hiked with you?? Check here.....

Yay Dennis! I wonder why you didn't have any earlier in the season. I really liked them and think I'll plant them again next year.
