Lysol for mildew?

Ann Arbor, MI

As I recall, a number of you have mentioned that you treat AV mildew with Lysol. Can anyone tell me how exactly you do that? Also, which Lysol product -- I assume the traditional 'disinfectant spray', but I'm not that's what is used. Any info would be appreciated!

Hey Jan,

For powdery mildew you can spray Lysol Disinfectant above the plants so a light mist will fall on them. On one of the threads, Bonnie brought up using 1 part milk to 9 parts water and spray that solution on the leaves. That works best for me. Five stars to Bonnie for sharing that recipe with us :) Hope this helps you as well.

Hi Connie--

Thanks!! I'll have to try the milk -- no trip to the grocery store, which is definitely a good thing today.

Kudos (and thanks) to mrsbonnie as well for sharing yet another invaluable trade secret. :)

I've also heard for just a couple leaves to wipe them with those lysol wipes...I have NOT tried this.

Thanks for the tip. -J
