Earlier this evening a friend and I were sitting out beside my brugs, and we noticed a hummingbird moth crawl all the way up inside a bloom! The he darted over to another and did the same thing. We started watching more closely, and there were at least four moths having a field day! I have two Frosty Pinks and an unnamed white fairly close together, and the moths were going ga-ga from all the goodies. Honestly, they acted like they were drunk! Poor little guys were reeling from flower to flower, and we could see them thru the flower well enough to tell that they were going all the way to the top of each one. What are my chances of getting seeds? They're threatening me with frost on Sunday night---will bringing the pots inside hurt my chances? What about pruning off extra limbs? (It's gotta happen, or I can't get them thru the door!)
Pollenation by moth
I just hand polinated some brugs that are in the house.I now have 3 new pods, plus the pods that were already on the brugs. They all seem to be OK -so far.CC
