Disappointment with Fat 'n Sassy Bell Peppers

Richland, WA(Zone 7b)

After reading several raves about Fat 'n Sassy peppers I ordered seed and grew them this year. Overall I am pretty disappointed- I have 4 plants, and have had a few nice thick walled ones, but as per this photo, not true with all- these are from one plant- 2 were thick, and the others- thin walled. If anyone has other recommendations I am open to suggestions. I use a lot of bells, and do NOT like thin puny ones!

I switched from growing bell types several years ago and have been growing various long, Marconi types with much better results. My first ones were saved seed from Costco peppers (still saving and replanting seed from those each year). I've since resorted to scouting out our huge, local international market for likely garden candidates. :) I think bells take longer than the elongated types to color up. The more immature the pepper the thinner the wall so it's my guess you are picking too early. You don't really have a maturity gauge with a green pepper.

Do your saved seeds come true, and over years do they stay as big and thick as past generations? I may go looking for that type of seeds. Thanks-

Yes, IMO I think so. Marconis are an old type pepper. I'd be happy to send you seed if you DM me. I've sent this seed from here to Maine and the comments have all been positive.
