CLOSED: Another unknown (to me).

(Zone 1)

I took this picture two weeks ago of another bird I've never seen around before. It was perched at the top of a dead tree in my neighbors yard and this is the best shot I could get with my camera ... it was late afternoon so the sun was glaring which doesn't help. Looking through my bird book I thought maybe an Acadian Flycatcher, but I'm not sure. Does anyone recognize this one?

I had one identified back in early August as a Great Crested Flycatcher which looks similar to this one, maybe the same?

Another lousy picture, but here's the one that was Identified in August as the Great Crested Flycatcher. I think they are probably the same bird. It can't be the Acadian which has a buff eye ring which these birds do not.

Not a Great Crested Flycatcher....possibly a Eastern Phoebe...not sure if I,m seeing wing-bars or sun glare, tough angle.

First pic is an Eastern Kingbird (note the white tip on the tail); second pic is still Great Crested Flycatcher ;-)

Thanks y'all! The sun was shining brightly on this bird so my photo isn't great. It had slight white wing bars, white breast and buttery yellow underneath towards the bottom, and also the underneath tail feathers were white. One of my neighbor says it's an Eastern Phoebe, she said she's seen a few of them lately. When she lived up north she worked with the Cornell Ornithology Lab identifying and banding birds, so she is knowledgeable but with the lighting in my photo, I'm still not convinced of the identity. There's still a chance it could be the Kingbird. I'm hoping to have my camera handy if I spot one again to get more pic's in better light.

I will mark this closed for now but will re-open if I'm able to get better pictures to post.

Thanks again for your help!

Lin
