CLOSED: Who am I?

(Zone 1)

I was out in the yard a little while ago and this cute little bird was flitting through the trees. My pictures are horrible but I'm hoping someone might recognize it from size and coloration? The little thing was so quick I didn't get a good look at it's face, but it was dark in color, I just couldn't get a decent shot. I looked all through my bird book but can't find anything that resembles this little bird. It was small, looked to be about 4" in length. I will post 4 photo's in hopes to get a name for this little bird.

It looks like an American Redstart. Very pretty bird.

Aha ... Thanks kwanjin. I saw a photo in my bird book of the American Redstart and wondered if that was it, but there was only one photo and it looks a lot different than this little one. I'm going to google the American Redstart and look for more pic's for comparison! I hope to see this bird again and maybe get a decent photo!

Thanks again for your help!

I've always liked these birds and we don't get them here. At least, none that I've seen. If you go to wikipedia and type in the name, it has a place you can hear the birdsong.

Thanks, I did listen to the song at the Cornell Ornithology Lab site: http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/American_Redstart/sounds

I spotted this little yet fast moving bird in the backyard. I have/had a couple of guesses but I am not certain about the yellow around the eyes...

Thanks for the help!

White-eyed Vireo, with dark eye so an immature (they don't get the white eye until adult). The yellow specs are characteristic for this species.
