The size of a Chipping Sparrow...thinking Field Sparrow but not sure...it was alone and stayed around the ground.

My Chipping Sparrows left in mid-August...but this may be a migrant Chipping Sparrow now that Ive taken a better look.
Yep, immature / winter plumage Chipping; it has too strong a dark line through the eye for Field.
Probably not too late for lingering birds (or ones moving down from even further north) in Ohio.
