Heavy rains; lost many plants. Here is one of them I want to replace. It is lovely silvery graygreen about like Dusty Miller and leaves are almost as delicate and fine as Silver Mound but quite a bit more robust. beautiful mound. Any one? Here it was.
CLOSED: Want Artemesia Vugari, Mugwort specific specie
Looks like Artemisia arborescens 'Powis Castle'. I don't have it, but I could check end if season sales ?????
It is a beautiful plant.
I love that thing! I have grown it several times, seems it only lives a couple years and dies on me though. It gets quite large, probably 3 foot around, and tall. Wonderfull stinky fragrance, sort of like mums, it kind of stinks, but I like it :)
I don't have now, it died, and I don't know if I will replace it or not.
Might not be able to find it til spring again...
I'm almost sure I have the Powis Castle, she has a very fine and silky fragrant foliage. She's annual for me but very easy to start from cuttings. I have a couple of rooted starts available. I'm gonna take a pic to make sure it's the plant you're looking for.
Thanks for the info , Oblique. Apreciate . Hope that is the specie. will note in my data base, and look fwd to hearing comformation.
Thanks for responce, frillylady. Yes, the scent is a bit off the edge but I like it ...duh... to a point ; )
Used to get a variety of comments on that, but otherwise it was the envy of the neighborhood. I gave a number of her babies to friends.
carpathiangirl, That would be great! I would love a starter plant. See if I have anything you might like. I also have cuttings of Pink Oleander (nerium I think), Lorapetalum (fringe plant), Texas Lantana, Nandina, Gardenia (Cape Jasmine), Sage (Salvia Officinalis), Mexican Petunia a perennial blooms most of summer til frost, Sweet Potato vine Marguita Ipomoea Bahtato Or Batato,...... or pay postage
LMK and TIA
I found the plant at the 4th nursery I visited. Most were large and woody. I found a nice compact one for $1.00, in a quart pot. I could send it in a small box on Monday, if you still want it?
I would send for postage, unless you have something hardy in zone 5????
Judy
That is it. The one I bought is about 5" tall, the other plants they had were a foot or more tall and very woody.
Obliqua, l'll D-mail you. tia
They do have a woody stem, very hard like wood.
They root all over too, mine had sort of like runners on it. I couldn't get anything to grow around it, not sure if it was the runners, or the plant itself. I have read that it has sort of a chemical that it puts off that other plants don't like. I guess it has something to do with that odd scent, probably an oil or something. It is nicknamed 'wormwood'.
The foliage has a soft feel to, nice to 'pet' LOL
