How much rain

Talihina, OK

We have had a nice soft rain for most of the day here in SE Oklahoma ...So how much did Y'all get (or still getting) but terribly humid way to nasty for any serious work outside Joe

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

We didn't get anything at all, but we could use some.

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

Not one drop, hopefully tomorrow. We could really use it since the pipe broke to the main garden and I haven't gotten a chance to fix it.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

We had some overnight. We're above average for the year, mercifully. The rationing of 2009 plus the harsh winter killed somem of my fruit trees.

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

It has rained all around us just not on us. The mosquitoes are going to eat me alive. I lost some fruit trees also they were alive last fall but never budded out this spring, I wonder if the cold killed them?
Yuska-what trees did you loss?

(Carey) Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

It's rained a little bit every day since Tuesday. Kinda crazy!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

I lost a Meyer lemon, a kumquat and a plucot. An orange tree had about a third of its branches killed back - it looks terrible. These citrus types can tolerate more cold than most and had come through previous winters with nighttime temps at 19 degrees for a week at a time, so I know the lack of moisture going into winter was a contributing factor.

Looked at the Radar on the weather underground and from that looks like all of us are getting flooded but the moon and stars are shining bright here but it is a little bit cooler 62° as i sit here ..better cool off soon or my cool weather plantings are going to all die...

It is raining here right now, but very gently, I will check on it later and see how much we get.

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

It's been raining in Rowlett since ~5am -- a nice, slow, steady, soaking rain. I'm guessing we'll get 1-2". Yahoo!

Yuska-I lost a couple apple trees, I thought they could take the cold.

No rain here sunny but a little cooler

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

Apple trees need cold to bloom and produce fruit, but if your summer was as dry as ours they were possibly weakened before winter set in.

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

We also had a very dry/hot summer and I did keep them watered but it may not have been enough. They did have a few apples last fall. We got snow 3 Xs last winter and it got down to 8*. That may have had something to do with it. It sure didn't decrease the bug population tho.

Starting to cloud up here does that mean rain?

(Carey) Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Lisa - same here further south. They're calling for scattered showers throughout the day. It's definitely getting more humid!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

We got 2.5" of rain today. It was a nice rain, too.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

We got 3.5 inches, amazing!!!

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

I see some on the radar and it looks like it might miss us. But that could change by the time it gets here though.

we got almost none of the rain this go-round. looked dark and threatening and it sprinkled for about 10 seconds. Oh well. Just watered instead. :)
