Bridgewater, ME

The small coop houses my silkies,I need more head room I can`t stand up in it and it needs to be a little wider or longer maybe by 4 ft or so and another 2 feet taller. How can I go about this?I don`t want to build another coop and I have to keep this one because dh made this playhouse for the granddaughters.Picutures would be nice if anyone has added onto an excisting coop,dh says it would be to hard to raise the roof, what do you think builders?Any ideas would help, this will not happen untill next spring

I really don't know...but when I wanted to raise my smaller coop a couple feet, I just raised it up on a new foundation of concrete blocks. Not sure how that would work with a structure as large as yours though.

Greene, you have a beautiful place. I would love to have something like that on my horse lot.

I really don't know how to make the coop taller, but what Catscan said about lifting it up sounded good. Perhaps you can jack it up and build a bottom onto it, reinforcing inside with 4X4 posts. ??? I shouldn't comment, I am no carpenter.

Where is ZZZ or that lady that built the great coop?

I am so thankful for what I have,I have 10 acres and dh knows how to build things, and I love my chickens it is so relaxing to just sit and watch them. And I know he will do somthing next spring with the silkie coop but I jut wanted some ideas.
