I grew this banana few years ago and now it gained few feet height, the question is should I put stakes to support the trunk? if someone can share his experience. Thanks
Andy
Should I use some kind of support for the banana tree?
Ours never fell over unless they are weighed down with bananas. That's a beautiful tree you have. If the stalk (trunk?) is spindly and you have wind, personally I would support it. I, altho, never saw one blow over with fruit or a hurricane. Does it have pups yet?
Hi Cyberageous, thanks for the suggestion, I think I plan to use rope to tie to the wall and secure it for the Santa Ana wind that comes during the winter. For two years, there is one pup come out and right now it is 3 inch tall. I will separate from mom next summer, hopefully it will grow as pretty as the mother plant.

I have so-so luck separating the pups. It's hard to get any root stock.
