christmascactus, where to you live? Although, cuttings are more likely to be available in the fall, they also take longer to root than cuttings taken in the spring. If you live in a southern state, it's not much harder to root, but in northern states, you'll also run into overwintering problems.

Due to a fall and breaking my hand,I can't do any trading. Can only do postage. I would really love to grow these beautiful plants.
I am confused on the time to get cuttings...I have ask and some told me to wait til fall and some say spring... the only time I think I shouldn't get cuttings would be in freezing weather which is Jan.-Feb. here.

Cayuga, IN

pensacola, do you have any brug cuttings for postage available, or for seed trade? Thanks Rose

Kim, thank you so much!!!
Dmail me to let me know how much and where to send.

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

Christmascactus, Cuttings are usually easier to root when the mother plant is growing fast, in the spring and summer, but people don't do much pruning during those periods because the more leaves and branches a Brug has the more flowers it produces. Cuttings are more plentiful in the fall when Brugs are being readied to be taken indoors.

betty, thank you for explaining

LOTS of fellow DG-er's!!! I have paid it forward so many times. Last year I lost just about all my brugs, but someone from here always comes through with freebies, or a nice co-op!

But fall is coming, and we will all have plenty to share again soon!
