What would you do if your dog tore both Cruciate Ligaments in his back legs?
Regards: Jim
Hi everyone: I am happy to say we went to our Orthopaedic Surgeon today for a follow-up appointment on Licolns' torn cruciate TPLO repair. Dr. Gillick was pleased with Lics' progress and wants us to keep walking him 2-3 times a day but baby steps at first right? Linc was able to do the whole block this time with some frequent stops for a rest and to watch the people walk by on Harmony Road. Depending on his strength and the overall condition of his leg, Dr. Gillick wants us to incorporate some figure eights into our walks as soon as I feel Linc is ready for it. The cost of this surgery was really expensive! $5400.00 for just 1 cruciate. He was on the operating table for over 3 hours under anaesthetic. He is doing fine with progress we see every day. The 2 steps into the back of the house posed a bit of a problem at first, but after helping him with them at first with a little boost, he is now able to hop up the 2 backdoor steps by himself with no problem. He is a fighter and a stong-willed little pup and if he can show that much drive and fortitude to get going again, when he did not understand what was happening to him in the first place, a lot of people could really give their head a shake and gain some will, fortitude and courage in their daily life from experiences just like this one. Linc never complains about his pain or discomfort. He is really healing well and coming through this surgery with flying colors! Good luck Linc! I love you buddy!
All my love DAD!
