Annie AKA Gooch had a massive amount of needed dental work done yesterday including eight teeth out and a gingavectomy. When I saw the x-rays I couldn't believe how bad her mouth was from her puppy mill days. She now has a very sore mouth. The meds are helping and she seems pretty comfortable but she is reluctant to eat her usual dinner and I can't say I blame her. My inclination is to go back to old reliable for a few days and boil up some rice and hamburger and serve it to her as a fairly sloppy gruel.
Any other suggestions? I think she will be back on her regular diet in five days or so and it isn't going to hurt her to drop a pound or two but I'd rather it not be as the result of a total fast.
