What is the secret to getting agapanthus to bloom? I have 1 potted and 1 in the ground. The potted didn't bloom at all but looked healthy, the one in the ground had a total of 2 blooms. What did I do wrong? Also, how soon can I dig my Jacobian Lilies? Should they have a frost before lifting? I'd like to move some iris into that spot and it's getting late already to move iris here. Any advice would be welcome.
agapanthus and jacobian lily questions
Here's some info which you might find helpful:
Agapanthus:

Sprekelia: If the bulbs have gone dormant it should be fine to dig them up. I'd be tempted to grow them in a container in your area. That way the bulbs don't have to be disturbed from year to year.
Thank you for the 2 new places to learn things. Will investigate both of them further. It's no wonder my agapanthus did so poorly. My fault, will try to do better next year. The sprekelia bulbs are green as can be yet. May just have to dig them and hope for the best next year. Keeping them in a container is probably a good idea for me as I don't usually get to planting bulbs till later than I would like. Thanks for the input, faeden.
You're very welcome - glad to help.
