While watering this evening something caught my eye on my yet to be released Colocasia 'Lime Cooler' (sport of Lime Aide) that's still under evaluation. Pushed back the leaves and it's blooming! Fortunately, I caught it before it opened so that I can witness its progression. The inflorescence is 11" long and the spathe itself is 9". The color is a soft, deep yellow. I wish I could compare it to a Lime Aide bloom but it has yet to bloom for me. Will post more pictures as it progresses.
First bloom on unreleased Colocasia Lime Cooler
The spathes on my Colocasia are also wrapped very tightly. Later, a small section near the base opens but this is very small. Haven't had any, to my knowledge, naturally successfully pollinate.
Thanks, guys. This is the first esculenta I've had bloom. Are they usually about a foot long?
Very close to that.

My "Illustris" was only a tiny plant and so were its flowers. My "Tea Cups" and the native ones on average would be a bit smaller than yours. Although they're in poor soil and neglected. Perhaps they'd be that size in good conditions, I should try it. I'm going to have to modify my 'lazy gardener' style :O(
Lime Cooler has continued to bloom and Lime Aide has now had multiple blooms, too. No difference in the two except for the floral chamber being a lighter color on Cooler. Nothing unique.
