We have had a very hot summer (for us, mid to high 90's most days, upper 70's to low 80's at night). My NZ spinach is very chlorotic, no spots, just general chlorosis although some plants are nice and green. The plants are otherwise healthy and large. Is the problem a pH problem or is it nitrogen deficiency? We irrigate regularly because we grow in raised beds so I may not be fertilizing enough.
This is my first time growing NZ spinach. No other plants in the garden are chlorotic.

I read that NZ spinach is a very heavy feeder. I gave it a dose of chelated minerals along with fish emulsion. I usually don't use animal products, but had to do something. I watched the leaves each day get greener (it was kind of neat watching the veins get darker, then the leaves would get darker green areas then the whole leaf would be green, took about 3 days). They also don't like as much water as I'm giving them but I can't fix that now. I will have to plant this crop on the edge of the garden next year so it stays drier.
Thanks for that information as I had considered growing this one last season. Your experience will come in handy.
