Hi there, well after dealing with the depression of my husband getting a DWI and him having to get an apartment to retain his job (71 miles away from home), the major financil pit that put use in I had to get a second job. I watch 2-4 children durring the day (7am to 6pm), work 25-30 hours per week at McDonalds, have a 5 year old boy and a 11 year old girl, my husband tells me last night he no longer needs or wants me around and with the life insurance my mom has on me, he sees no need for me to be around period. We moved here to Liberty, IN because of my husbands job, 80 miles away from all family. I know I have several trades that I have not fullfilled my part of the trade, but I hope to try to fill them before my children and I have to leave it all behind. If not, I will be glad to pay you something for seeds/plant and postage. I am not sure how much longer I will have internet access, but you can write to me for now at

Our church, here in Montgomery, AL has been a haven for many folks - from drug addicts and sellers to single parents with husbands like yours. I know we aren't close to you in proximity, but SERIOUSLY, if you need a place to stay for awhile to get yourself and your kiddos together (and get out of range of your crazy husband) we can help. Our church has a 2 bedroom apt that they keep just for situations like this. You won't have to pay a thing and you'll have everything you need from food to having your bills paid, if necessary. It's likely that someone would be glad to come and get you...that's how seriously we take it.
I have had my life threatened by my first husband. He figured if I ended up in a body bag, he wouldn't have to pay child support. I know where you're coming from.
Be safe. I understand that what I've offered here isn't the greatest solution since you'd be away from your family, but sometimes you have to do something in the interim to keep yourself and your kiddos safe.

I've been there also. There is no worse feeling than having the bottom fall out of everything you had hoped for. But with God and faith, and the love of your kids, I am sure you will find a better life.

I lived with an alcoholic for 19 years and believe me, it is much nicer living without them. Alcoholism is a disease that affects everyone around the person.

Life does get better after they're gone... really. Your life will be better when he's no longer affecting your life, you are blessed with children, they are your life and you're thier life. Bless you for having the courage to improve thier lives by rebuilding away from this situation.. many people don't and thier children suffer for it.
Just pack up your kids, and get as far away from the maniac as soon and as fast as you can go....and as far! There are many womens shelters out there, for the abused woman and her children, be it physical, emotional or mental! Stay safe, and my prayers are with you!

they have a list of shelters by state. There are quite a few in Indiana. They may be able to help with other services. My daughter is doing community service work at a women's shelter 'Thrift Store' this afternoon. They provide housing, daycare, job training, and counseling, for women in need. I know how it can be, I was married to an alcoholic for 12 years. My kids and I made it. You and your children will get through this, too, and be much happier in the long run. It may look impossible right now, but with time things will improve. E-mail me if you want to talk, or if there is anything I can do.

Tonia, please worry about you and the kids anot any trades you need to fill. Be safe. If you ever need to talk just write. I have been in a similar situation, not with kid, but just as scary. One day the Lord will bless you witha mantha deserves you and the kids. My present husband of 20 years was a god send for sure. The Lord works in strange ways that we don't always undserstand but know that he is with you and he will set you free of this fear if you let him. You will always be in our thoughts and prayers. Most libraries have internet setups that you can use for an hour at a time free so try and let us all know you are safe. janet

If you need any help from us, that we can provide, and you don't have internet access, just go to your local library and contact anyone ...I'm sure I'm speaking for us all.Feel free to write if neccesary, but first get your kids and yourself SAFE...

You shouldn't worry about seed trades, people here will not hold that against you.
Tonia: Everyone here is right......the seed trades don't matter. These are good people who have their priorities in order. Everyone wants you to take care of yourself and your children. Sometimes the only thing you can do in a relationship is walk away knowing that you will be better off without the pain and the heartache. I have sent you a very long letter. Hold on to your children and tell them you love them and KNOW that you are not alone. Call me with the number I gave you anytime. Take care of yourself and the children. Well we had a long talk last night (when he was straight) and he actally apolgized and said he has really ben messed up these last coulpe of months and said he was sorry for acting the way he has here latey (this is a man who has admitted he was wrong less then 15 times in his whole life), and if I was doing something or not (which he felt perrty sure I was not)he did not want to push me into doing it. But in the end he would have only lost his family. Things may just be looking up, but it will take a while for this heart to heal and winter is coming.
