There is a bunch of Crocosmia growing under a Rhodie that I want to bring up to my deck for the hummingbirds. I'm wondering what minimal pot size (diameter and width) is needed and how many bulbs to put into each pot? I plucked up some of them and each bulb had up to 10 little bulbs attached to it. I'm hoping to get some others in a trade or plant sales later on this month.
Also, I've had some people suggest that after I plant them I should cover with straw and this may sound very stupid, but where do I buy straw at?
Note: I'm not sure which Crocosmia I have.
