I was in the Bahamas last weekend. I didn't get to do much birding unfortunately, but I did snap a few pics. I could use some help with IDs. Some of the pics aren't great, but maybe you have some ideas for me.
This one was on Great Stirrup Cay. Unfortunately, I don't have a better pic. There were some American Redstarts and Bananaquits in the area, too.
CLOSED: bahamas birds
No.1...not sure reminds me of a Bunting.
No.2...not sure, the closest thing in my field guide would be a Laughing Gull.
No.3...agree Gray Kingbird
No.4...Ruddy Turnstone
No.5...agree Mockingbird...that's if I,m seeing a touch of a yellow eye.
Ditto to Burd on #2-#5; not sure what #1 is, could be an escaped silverbill or similar.
Resin
Thanks! What do ya'll think about a Woodpecker Finch for #1?
See picture a little way down the page for example of Woodpecker Finch:

Woodpecker Finch is exclusive to the Galapagos Islands, which are west of South America and a good distance from the coast. Bird uses tools...like sticks and such to assist in gathering food.
Would not be a Woodpecker Finch.
Re Bird #1..
Other than the Greater Antillean Bullfinch, there are no regularly-occuring Finches or Finch-like birds in the Bahamas.
Maybe a female Brown-headed Cowbird (?)
Burd, thanks for catching that about the location. Obviously I didn't read the description very carefully. Maybe Res is right about the escapee. OldNed, I have Brown-headed cowbirds at my house, and this bird was quite different. I don't think that would be it. Thanks for all your help!
