Good morning farmers. Ruth, I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Good memories are precious. May you and your family experience God's comfort.
It's early here on the west coast, the sun isn't up yet. I can see cattle along our fenceline siloutted against the sky that is sort of a gold color. Looks like another beautiful day. Yesterday I worked on an overgrown flower bed, cut the wild rosebushes back quite a lot, pulled out several wheelborrow loads of old canes and a ton of quackgrass. Took out the rock edging that is very hard to trim around and will replace it with old railroad ties so I can trim next to it with the weed wacker. I have to remove a dieing clump birch from there, it just never got established and I think it died from too much competition from the wild roses and a couple of other invasive plants. The birds like it but now that nesting season is over I won't be disturbing any bird's routine. Probably it will be harder to remove than I think. Down in the vegie garden things got dry and the soil got hard so I ran a sprinkler there yesterday just to make weeds and old plants easier to remove. I sure could use some sandy soil, not too much, I have gardened with that too. It's time to get dressed and go feed the horses. Have a great day everyone, smile at everybody and count your blessings.
