I found my recipe for fried pie crust !
3/4 cup Crisco 3 cups plain flour
9 T water dash of salt
This dough rolls out and holds it's seam when closed and frying
My grandkids spent the summer with me 20 years ago and this had to be made every day while they sat across from me at the kitchen bar waiting for the hot pies .When I ran out of fruit to fill them , then it was a mixture of sugar , butter and cinnamon . Good ,Good ,Good.
It sure brings back wonderful memories of an 8yr old girl and her brother ,10 yrs old . Just us . When they had their tummys full , they would walk out to the dock and fish all afternoon. She learned how to put her own worm on the hook , and out fishes us all to this day .
