Anyone out there have legal or illegal pond plants that float and shade the surface? I would love to have a tiny piece or two to put into my pond.

No, I dont have anything to trade this time. I was looking for water hyacinth, water lettuce or some legal floating plants to absorb some nutrients from the pond.

There is a place that I know of close to you who sometimes has some w hyacinth that they will give to you for the asking.

Cheryl, what is this thing about not coming to the swap because you have no plants to trade? Have you forgotten that having trades is not the only reason to be there? Come on girl, you just might go home with some nice plants anyway.
They aren't free but... it is getting late in summer and I have noticed Lowes marks their water plants down drastically this time of year. Might do a drive by on the garden centers...
Cheryl, I have lemon bacopa, aka water hyssop, that I can share. You'll have to come to the RU to get it, though. :)
Also, be sure you really want it. I keep it because I love the little blue flowers. But it does seem to be the plant that the algae surrounds first.
Honestly I just have so much going on in my life and yard that this will be an RU I miss. I am looking forward to spring though and have some seeds to start so I can have some trades. New plants are not what my garden needs right now. It needs me to finish things and work on the beds I have so no new babies for me. I think this heat wave has just made me feel done for the season. I do hope you all have a great time and everyone leaves with at least one new treasure.
