How do you divide Crinum?

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

I have an Ellen Bosanquet that I would like to give a piece of it to someone. I dug down and could not find an actual bulb .. it seems like an offset coming from the mother plant and the shoot does not have roots.

Can someone tell me how to divide this? Will shoots like the one described make roots?

Thanks!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

X, I purchased two 'Ellen Bosanquet' crinums this early spring. The bulbs were roughly a lemon in size. I assume the offset will sprout its own roots eventually. Let the offset callus over before you attempt to plant them. That should work. My 'Milk and Wine' crinum offsets are very tolerant of neglect. And they kept for a long time before I remember to plant them, and they did just fine.
