I have a 30 year old pear tree which has always produced scabby pears. They taste fine, we just have to peel them before eating. I've belatedly decided to try to solve this problem. From what I've read online, raking and burning leaves in the fall and applying a fungicide when it buds out seems to be the least toxic approach. Any experience, thoughts, or suggestions? I live in the Pacific Northwest, so we get a lot of spring rain. Well, we get a lot of rain period. Thanks. Oh, and no clue what the cultivar is - my mom gave this to me when we first moved here, likely a common variety purchased from a Home Depot or Lowes type store (I think it was Eagle back then).
