Spiderwort question

My SW starts out beautiful in the spring but by July it turns black and dies. I moved it from the back to the front so I could water it more but it did the same thing. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Could you be watering it too much? Mine dies back around July/August and I just cut it back to the ground. Comes back every year and I am not so sure that is a good thing.

I don't water mine, ever. I would try holding back on the watering, see what happens.
If yours don't make it, I have extra to trade.
