OK... sometimes we hear a brug has strong growth... often this is a relative expression.. I'd like to show an example of ths for me..
Earlier I'd posted pictures showing small cuttings broken off the sides of standards... being rooted right in potting soil... I use this direct method of rooting for longer cuttings also...[ in the strong growth times of the summer ]
This is a picture of a few variegated cuttings I took a picture of ... just a month ago... on July 11 th... as they were starting off their rooting in this small rooting tray....they are Maya... a strong grower for me ..
it' s the whiter variegated cutting... and the Green on Green variegation of Emerald Frost.. also a strong grower...
What does strong growth look like
OK... that was a mnth ago... here's this mornings pictures... it's gray here ... expecting rain..
so they were in the same tray.. getting the same water and food.. and equal adddatives and such I bestow on them.. like it or not... I have rotated the container to give the same light and exposure to them ...
well... true... the white variegated one has less green for making food/growth... and the tallest one is always getting more sun... once one begins to take off above another...
but in just a month.. emerald frost has so out shined///out grown the other ...
Emerald Frost is my poster child for strong growth..
Gorden
the Emerald has really grown, I can see why it's your poster child, good job
Elizabeth
Gordon,
Take pity on poor little Maya! Take her out of there and give her her own pot. Emerald Frost is beautliful. I can see why it is your poster child.
yes.. they all have to come out.. and move on.. Emerald frost has buds now.. so it's likely an easy one to place...
If it is not spoken for I would love to have Emerald Frost, I am sure I can find something you would like.
Sure Ken... I'm sure you can.. I want some of your beautiful white and green peafowel ..but I'm sure the neighbors would have a fit.. a guy a dozen roofs over.. has a building up there.. where he keeps 50-100 homming pigons.. he races them... they release his and the competing birds from other flyers.. maybe 300 miles away.. the they handicap the flights home by the distance/time they flew it.. well maybe in another house..
so write and let me know when the heat has abated there... I'm hearing from you and others it's still been warm..
it's feeling like fall in the nights... so it will be starting flowering in ernist up here real soon..not alot of brug flowers to show... but I did get a new flag in today.
Pictured.... flying .. and the front 1/2 of the garden...
could you point out where one of your lovely brugs might go..
