This is my first year growing epis and I am enjoying it so much. We've had some really hot weather here in Indiana this summer, in the 90's with hi heat index up toward 100 my epis are inside on my sun porch which is not air conditioned, the windows are open but not much of a breeze, I'm worried they might be getting to hot. Should I bring them in the house or would a fan help by circulating the air? Most of them are rooted cuttings. any help would be appreciated.
how warm is to warm
Watch the plants they will tell you when They are stressed. Can you fix up a misting system.. I lost a number of mine last year when the temps get up to 120 in the shade house. With the misting system them temps stay below the out side temps
Sandy
Thanks Sandy, right now I've got a fan oscillating the air around, hot air but its moving and I can mist them by hand a couple times a day through this hot period. So far they still look pretty good. I've got some of the larger ones under the trees outside but it's still hot. I found a really nice size ric rac at Lowes the other day. Buddy I snatched that up right away. haha Thank you and have a great day.

Acts238: Epi's come from tropical areas and are not going to be hurt by Indiana summertime temps. A fan provides air movement which is good for a number of reasons. Water once a week and you will be fine. Wintertime temps can hurt your plants. Keep temps. above 45 degrees and all will go well. bob
Thanks Bob, I'm keeping an eye on them. this winter I'm going to rig something in a spare room to hang them on and let them rest. I'm hoping next year I might get a flower or two, and you can bet if I get one I'll be taking some pictures and posting. I can't wait to get some, all the pictures are beautiful.
