I have but a few Brugs but they are without a doubt one of my favorites even when I am using the 2 wheeler to get them into the garage for the winter.
I have an yellow NOID (I like that ty) that hangs it's flowers very low and I have a pink which holds them almost outright. Not upright like a Datura but you can look the flower right in the eye.
Are there Brugs noted and possibly bred to hold their flowers up rather than down? Is this a trait that breeders look for or promote? I like it and would be grateful if someone could provide some named possibilities and sources?
The plants I do have were dripping with an intoxicating fragrance last noc to the point my kness were buckling. Talk about being able to smell something from a distance.
What Brugs keep their heads up??
I haven't had Rosalie very long, but during her one flush earlier this year she kept her flowers horizonally. Look for Brugs that are heavily loaded with aurea genes. Use either of these two lists and look under the Breeder's Set column to get the genetic background of the cultivar. BGI has a good database, but you have to be a member to view it.

This is a photo of my Rosalie, blooming while in the greenhouse this winter. The pale pink was her winter color. Summer color should be darker.

Brugmansia 'Bambina' [not 'Bambino'!] has more or less upright flowers. It is a European cultivar.
The shooting star is absolutely BeaUtiFUl !!!!!!!!
Didn't Big Al have a seedling once that pointed up, I think it was a JT cross? I am no longer a member of BGI, I do miss Big Al.
