I was trying to get a shot of a swallow in flight...is this a Cliff Swallow?...if so it would be a new bird.
CLOSED: Cliff Swallow?
Yes. Cliff Swallow.
Thought it was, thanks for the confirmation elageo!
After looking again its supposed to have a squared off tail...this one is wedged...see if another can concur.
I agree the tail shape is missleading. To me the light band of feather at the back of the head is the clincher. Maybe Resin has an opinion.
Agree that the band is why I was thinking Cliff SW originally. Everything but the tail says Cliff Swallow though.
Female or immature male Purple Martin - note the large bill (small in Cliff), no pale orange rump, and forked tail (square in Cliff)
Resin
Thanks Resin for clearing this up. Once again you come up with the answer.
Kneeling....lol
Barn Swallows, juvs ;-)
Resin
I figured it was not Cliff Swallow's as they were out of place. lol Thanks Resin.
