This is a Fuji Shibori Cross
The only bloom on the plant and it did not bloom again. I don't know if it will ever appear again in my crosses, I hope so. No seeds either. You may be able to see very few specks..
The amazing thing here is the yellow brown edging.. incredible.. it was a very large flower. Used my hand in the photo for size.
I'll post a couple more photos for documentation purposes..

Here is one of my Chocolate Blizzard Crosses that did produce only a few seeds which I shared with only a two persons on DG.
You can see how this flower would have really stood out...
Just want to make sure the sepals are in the photo. Almost looks like a species sepal, but, trust me, they are I. nils

Thank you Nancy, it means a lot coming from you.. Thank you. I've worked hard on these babies. I can hardly wait till I can grow out some of my other crosses, if they didn't dry up in my storage box.
These were really cool, small vine, had a couple of flowers on it at a time, not too many. Maybe this coming year it will get better.. this heat is awful.

You can see that I got one of each color, two vines, one with red flowers and one with red specks.. They looked great together.. I've got to grow these out again. It is like a matching set ...

Hopefully you can see these better, these are from the same cross, two vines from the same cross.. very neat to see, they are like companions that go together, color coordinated.

Thank you so much. Each day is an incredible day when I do these grow outs. Some day's I'm totally shocked and delighted and some days, they are just still beautiful. My anticipation is crazy, I'm out there in my PJs early with brushes, nets, etc.. (well not this year) I took a break this year.. but am preparing for this coming year for several grow outs.
Maybe I should get into hybridizing mgs. I've been working with daylilies but it takes two years for blooms and 3 or 4 years for to see the true bloom. I'm not sure I have the patience for the daylilies.
You should try it, you can actually get two or more growing seasons if you plan it right and see results the same year. They are so much fun. Even if you just try a few pots at first, not 200 like I do..lol
I have a large privacy fence I could grow a bunch on. I left a one inch gap between the fence pickets for the very purpose of growing vines all over the fence. Maybe I'll start that next spring. You are such an enabler, Antoinette! You know I'm still gathering materials for our mosaic class. I think I'll really like doing that once I get started, just like I'm going to love working with morning glories.

You probably can grow morning glories asexually from cuttings, and of course, if you want to get into it, by tissue culture if you want a lot of clones.

A., is it that PT glue? I added it to my list. Plexiglass is flexible so I'm wondering if I should mosaic it. I think I'd need to mount it on plywood or something first so it won't bend and pop the tiles off. I might just use plywood or glass. I'd love to do a bunch of different butterlies to put on my fence. But that will be a winter project. I've got my hands full with the gardens. And I'm not getting much done with all this heat and humidity. You know what I'm talking about I'm sure!
Zen-Man, yes, that's a great idea, I have to start doing that, I should have tried that with some of the plant in the first photo.
Butterfly: That is the PT glue. Good stuff. I agree, use the plywood, I don't think the tiles will pop off the plexiglass, but the grout might. You would have to sand the plexiglass to make it rough, then glue the stuff on.

All these have different parents, are from different plants.. all tagged and seeded.
Rounded flower, these were all nice and firm, nothing floppy about them.
Here you can see the bluish speckles with Shikanoko (the pink speckled)

Hopefully I have not posted this one yet.. there are some with just one speck, some with four specks, some full of specks..
The next growouts will all be F2's, I do have some more Fl's that I plan to grow out.
I love the speckled ones. And look at the purple and pink posted together. Do you see a star in the center? I do!
Aren't they unique? I get a real thrill to see the photos afterwards. Yes, you can see a star form in there.
these are small plants, but, these are one of the parents to some of the speckled crosses here..
Kikyo "Ten Ten"
I like those! The foliage is different from the other morning glories. It looks shinier and more textured.
The leaves are pretty stiff on this strain they even curl under, whereas the other strains of this same kikyo are small, weak and thin.
This is a I. nil Hanahubuki cross, I have to find the tag on this one to see what I crossed it with., some do not take, each grain of pollen makes a new cross, so each seed capsule has 6 seeds or less, then you can imagine how many varieties can come out of each seed when doing the growouts. Not easy to stabilize, some crosses do not even take, so it's back to the drawing board.
