Heres a little tour of the backyard! (future RU spot?)

Baytown, TX(Zone 9a)

Well everyone, just got done cleaning up the backyard and figured I would take some pics of it. We just moved in about 2 months ago, so not everything has filled out. Im hoping next year the yard will look great! I hope to maybe next year host a RU for the East side of Houston and the Liberty and Chambers County areas. Also had to include a couple of pics of my bratty dog, Zoey! ;) Hope yall enjoy!

That is really nice Brandon, I think you are doing a great job and the beautiful pyramid you made for your vines looks great.

Beautiful yard and very cute Zoey!

Here is a picture of our backyard. We really need to clean it up a bit. We have been having horrible problems with an animal tearing up our plants recently. I bet it is probably a raccoon or possum.

Nice backyard. That Oak is massive.

HAHAHA You need to call one brave exterminator!!! Believe it or not, that is actually a Green Ash tree. I measured the circumference the other day and it is 10ft 4in. Thanks so much for the compliments!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Lee you are just too funny.

Brandon I have an Arizona Ash about as big as yours, it is beautiful but I haven't measured it, I planted it myself 41 years ago.
Here it is.

Nice Ash tree! Thats the same story with mine. This house I live in used to belong to my Grandparents. They planted the tree back around 1960. The only thing Im scared of is that the normal life expectancy of these trees is around 40 to 60 years old. Mine is pushing it. :(

Actually the Green Ash is 55 years old. My Dad planted it near my 1st birthday. At one time it had a much larger canopy spread that rivaled the state record tree at the time. Then the next door neighbor decided he wanted to cut back the limbs on his side of the fence. It survived major hurricanes Carla, Alicia, Rita and Ike. Rita and Ike did the most damage to some very large limbs but the old girl is still hanging in there.

I am glad she is hanging in, beautiful trees are a treasure.

Great job Brandon. I am going to steal that idea of the trellis pyramid if you don't mind!

Good job, Brandon! I wish my yard were as neat as yours, but I have a long way to go. As soon as your plantings have time to fill in, it will look fabulous!

Great pictures! Great job! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks!

You have a wonderful yard, Brandon. I'll bet it's a calm and relaxing oasis.

Josephine, your Ash tree is beautiful. I had a massive old Arizona Ash much like it but had to have it taken down a few years ago. My house was built in 1973 and back then builders planted the trees WAY too close to the houses. I hated to do it, but the tree was wreaking havoc with my foundation. :-(

Yes, that is so sad Carla, but sometimes it has to be done, I bet you miss it.
