I had the best day!!! I went to meet stormy (jackie brock) at her house. She is so wonderful, my kind of person, and we hit it off from the start. I love her!! She has the most wonderful collection of plants, some I'd only read about, and one that makes me kick myself for not taking the camera so we could know what it is. It's the most beautiful flower I've ever seen.
Not only does she have brugs everywhere in the ground, she's got them in pots all over too. I was really glad to see those, it tells me how mine will do, I'm just barely south of her.
There are trays full of all kinds of seeds, cuttings rooted, I gotta tell you I could have stayed there all week! A huge greenhouse just full of all kinds of treasures.
But it was so much more than the plants. I had a horrendous day yesterday and today more than made up for it. You'd love her if you could go, and like me, you wouldn't want to leave.
Jackie, you have a friend for life. This isn't about plants, though you were more than generous, this is about heart, and you have a big one!!!
Can't wait to go back:) Now I've got to get to Azaleas house:)
OH!! Am I the only one here that didn't know that Whiskers is a Gloria cross???????????????? (feeling really dumb, but after a day like this, it's okay:)

Whiskers was a seed I received from Vicki Harding....Jessie Noel, Becca Lynn, Old Glory and Biloxi Belle are Hybrids off of Whiskers.
Isn't Jackie a doll...I have been trading with her for about three years...one day I too will get to meet her.

about 30 minutes or so, and I can tell you, I will go back if she will have me. We never stopped talking:) She was so generous to give me one of her "Blush", can't wait til summer to see it bloom. Too bad her DH stays on the computer so much and keeps her from us!!! :) (he must be as bad as me!)
Glory, since you grew whishkers from seed, that means all whiskers plants every where came from your plant, right? that is awesome.
This is probably a dumb question but .... do brug hybrids have to be registered?

Yes that is right....I have the mother plant..Whisker got it's name cause it has long whiskers..don't you think that is very original..lol

Oh tiG thats great!!! Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I am heading south in a few weeks and hoping to meet a few DG'ers on the trip.

Oh My!!! Ya'll are the greatest! Looks like I may meet more DG'ers than I thought, thanks for the invites ya'll! :)
My plans are not set in stone but I will be going straight to TN from here around halloween day or nov 1. From there I am going to LA.
Then on to Biloxi MS for a day or two and up through AL, GA and east coast states on the way back to MD. So I'm sure I can probably meet up with Glory and tiG, but arelen sweetie, I don't think I'll be in FLA at all this trip, and I sure would love to see all your brugs and gardens. :(
