RR treasures

Akron, OH(Zone 5a)

I couldn't have enough petting my new treasures and what a reward -- I've got my first episcia bloom! She was labelled Silver Sheen, I loved her shiny leaves. They are getting bigger and more buds are coming so she's gonna be a very showy plant quite soon. I'm so exited to watch her grow, thank you all ladies, it wouldn't happen without you!

Love the yellow 'neck' (is there any term for that? lol)

Ready for the surprise? This is my Laser Celebration baby (thanks Jan!) Have you ever seen a baby blooming? Will it be bad for her if I let her bloom? I'd love to see the flower open!

How pretty!! It won't really hurt to let the bud open.Once it's formed it has already used the extra energy needed for growth...and it's so hard to resist LOL. I would pick off any more buds that form, just to give the leaves a little more chance to grow.

Yeah, the poor thing has only two leaves... Will a little fertilizer help her to keep growing?

Happy plants, how cute. I agree, the bloom on the baby is darling but it does take energy.

If it were me,after you get to see the bloom,I would lift the baby and if it has quite a few roots, put it in it's own little pot.of fresh mix....no fertilizer needed. It's okay to lightly feed your community tray, but use a very dilute mixture.

Maria, you amaze me! As I've said, you've definitely got the touch. Good growing!

Thanks ladies, it's so rewarding to watch these little things flourishing. Jan, I can't take much credit, it's more likely because of genetics/parent stamina. And I'm so happy the babies are doing so well for me.
