Mystery bird.

When I took the pic, I was thinking "female House Finch".

But the head color has me wondering.

Looks OK for female House Finch to me - I reckon the head pattern is affected by a shadow from a leaf, giving it a false dark 'cap'.

Resin: I was hoping you'd pop in with an ID! for some reason I get the House Finch and House Sparrow mixed up. We have both of them in our area on occasion, and I still can't remember which is which, LOL.

Thanks for the try plantladylin. I was pretty certain it wasn't a HOSP, the streaks on the breast eliminated that.

Resin, I reckon the shadow is what fooled me. If I had seen it better, I'd said female HOFIN for sure.
