Like so many of us I have had to deal with deer, deer and more deer. My county in Vermont has an area within it where the deer are actually overgrazing. The deer in this area aren't healthy and the natural vegetation is being destroyed. I've often wondered if deer in urban areas could be captured and moved to rural areas where people could hunt them during hunting season. There always seems to be a higher population in the urban areas where there are no predators or hunters. I've also thought that the deer population could be controlled in urban areas by capturing the excess and offering the meat for sale to raise money for the a worthy cause that the taxpayers could decide upon. I know I'm not politically correct, but it just seems that there must be a practical solution. Any ideas?
Just thinking of ideas for deer control
You are not alone. There was a You Tube video a few weeks ago which showed
a deer attacking a dog in Cranbrook , B.C. In another clip, a deer was attacking
a cat. I think the town council was to discuss a possible cull of deer which had become used to urban living.
