Abby is a 13 year old sable sheltie we took into rescue about a month ago ( family split) She has lost a lot of teeth and probably has arthritis in her back legs which are very stiff, paws angle sideways somewhat and every once in a while she stumbles when the legs give way. Not much call to adopt a 13 year old dog and - since there has been an empty space in the house since Fancy died last month I decided to bring her in to join Bailey, Jazz and I. After all everybody else here is 13! She is a lovely calm personality who is so curious about other animals that she just walks up to them and has a sniff as if to say What's this - even did it with a horse! Jazz the cat who is not particularly dog friendly stood and hissed and snarled at her while she calmed sniffed his face and then walked away! She has always been an only dog so attaches to humans quite quickly.
She does however have a sheltie barking tendancy - if something sets her off she just carries on barking with no good reason to do so. We are working on that one!
