Sources for Senna polyphylla???

Miami, FL(Zone 10b)

Hello everyone, I would like to add this plant to my garden since it attracts butterflies and I've been looking online with no luck. Only Top Tropicals and they don't have great feedback so I have no idea as to where is to get this beauty. Any help will be appreciated.

SusanLouise I did see them at Plant creations but they don't sell it any longer. Here is their statement.

Senna polyphylla has been found to be a host plant for Pink Hibiscus Mealy Bug.

After having found the pest in our nursery, and having to treat it with chemicals we would prefer not to use, we no longer carry this plant. We are keeping this information here because the photos are just so nice to look at. We wish you luck in finding some and keeping them healthy. Don't bother to call to ask where you might get them; we no longer promote this plant.

I saw that too........Roly, An Alternative you might consider is Candle Stick Cassia , a host for various Sulphers, and not prone to "undesirable " pest problems as long as I've grown it and comes back after a freeze here and I'm much farther north than you..........it will look a bit "shredded" towards the end of BF season from all the Sulpher cat's , I don't care but if you do you could always put it in the back yard........it can get pretty big too.

Roly,

Sorry, I didn't read everything...
Here's a nursery that still has 2 left in stock in 3-gallon pots for $24.95. They only have 2 left in stock. so I wouldn't wait if I was you :)

Don't forget to check the Garden Watchdog site on this group. I thought I had heard of it before.

Oh my...glad you added that link from the Garden Watchdog...
Well, I was just trying to help...guess she will have to wait til next Spring to find a nursery that might have it in stock or just grow from seeds.

I did hear about Top Tropicals but like I said before they don't have great feedback so I didn't get it from them.

It's ok SusanLouise. I know that you did it with the best of intentions to help me find the plant. I guess I'll have to keep waiting until I find another vendor or seeds. Anyone has seeds by the way???

mjs I did read about the Candle Stick Cassia but it gets huge compared to the polyphylla. I wanted something that I could keep topped at 10 ft at the most. I see the Candle Stick growing here and those are 20 plus feet trees.

In the end all I want to do is attract butterflies to my yard. So far Guld Fritillaries are a regular which I see all day long and hopefully soon Monarchs will come more regularly as well as pipevine swallowtails.
