Last night my little girl and I were out in my flower bed by our retaining wall and she noticed a nice big juicy swallowtail caterpillar in between two of the beams. This morning, sure enough, chrysalis.
My big question is... daughter REALLY wants to bring it inside so she doesn't miss the big event. Can I safely detach it and bring it indoors? There is no way to bring it what it's on since it's directly on the retaining wall. Wonderful camo job by that caterpillar. The chrysalis almost completely matches the beam in color. How did she/he do that?? Bright green one minute, wood tone the next.
Any advice is much appreciated!
Chrysalis help please!
