Kokomo
A few new ones...
The more I see and hear about the Fantasy Charm, the more I want it!!! Beautiful blooms! Thanks for sharing.
I haven't had any blooms in over 2 weeks. I have been spraying hort oil for spider mites, the bugs are gone now and everyone is healthy. I have new buds on my 3 big plants, so hopefully I can share soon.
In your opinion, since the weather has been decent here in the mid 80's, and I finally have blooms, do you think I should bring my plants into the house with the AC tomorrow? (the forcast is calling for a heat index of 106º), or should the shade of the roof overhang on my deck be good enough?
IMHO I'd leave the plants outside but make sure they are well watered and if you can shade them all the better. I would think the shock of AC would do more harm then the heat.
Fantasy Charm is one you can definitely get a cutting from. When do you want to try it?
I would try it whenever you wanted to cut it. Thank you so much! Did you still want to cut SB? How does FC grow? She is absolutely beautiful! You are too kind! I will bring them all into the shade today, thanks for your input!
Just popping in to say that per my cutting experiment on the Walmart hib.....The one in water very quickly showed white nubbies! Looks like roots will form quickly on that one. It was a "green, limber" cutting. The woody one dipped in Rooting hormone and placed in soil has not done anything yet, but I expected it to take longer naturally.
I want to try the water rooting method. Do you change the water every day? Did you put hormone on it? Most of my cuttings I took look so far so good, all except one that is showing a little bit of soggyness on the stem. Do you think it is a goner? The 2 tiny leaves on it are green with a tiny yellowing around the edge. and one fell off, green.
I only change the water on cuttings once a week usually...and you only use powdered hormone when rooting in the potting soil. Your cutting that is soggy...are you trying it in soil? Is it green or woody?
Wow, D. Just beautiful. Cloudberry Jam is unusual & gorgeous. You are doing something right!!! Everything looks wonderful.
Hugs,
Judy
I have gel hormone, and it is in Foxfarm seed starter soil. I also did one in just perlite... dont know how that will work out, but I know I heard it somewhere...
