Silver Queen corn. What's going on?

My Silver Queen is producing 3-7 ears. ????? I bought it from a farm supply store in Alabama

Just count your blessings. Never had Silver Queen produce more than two good ears. Sometimes a third or 4th nubbin not worth picking.

Fd--is it worth saving some seeds from these oddballs?--I realize Silver Queen is a hybrid and these seeds will not grow true Silver Queen but the question is should I try to save some of these seeds and see what happens or just enjoy eating it?

I would just enjoy eating. I have used saved seed from Silver Queen to fill a planting when I ran short of seeds. I t does ok, under normal conditions you might not find any noticable difference. Looks the same, may not be as vigorous or productive.
