Yesterday I saw a baby Robin in the yard and so did Ty but after I yelled at him he left it alone. I also saw an adult not far away. Didn't know what to do.
Well I just saw them again out my window. Parent is taking care of baby. But what can I do if anything? I have no idea where the nest is. But will go and look. I don't have much time as I have to get ready soon to go to work!
Help needed as so as possible-Baby Robin and parent
Best to let them be.
You do know how that breaks my heart to do? But I can do that. I did look for the nest but didn't find one. It could be on the big shed I hear chirping from there.
Ves the parent will look after it, and continue to care for it. He was probably the first to fledge . The others will soon follow, if they haven't done it yet.
I know I'm seeing this a day late, but one thing I have done is to scoop up the fledgling and place him safely up in a tree or bush, away from neighborhood pets. Sometimes they take that jump just a little bit before they're ready, and I don't think it hurts anything to put them up out of harm's way. The parent will continue to feed the fledgling in the new location, and hopefully he'll really be ready to fly the next time he tries!
Critter I was at work all day yesterday so don't know what has happened to the little tyke. Can't even look around until tomorrow. But thanks! If there is a next time I will be more prepared!
Of course, sometimes you go out all soft words and concerned, with a soft towel in your hand to scoop up the poor baby, and you chase him around the yard for 15 minutes before he finally decides to fly to the top of your roof! Silly fledgling, getting you all worried for no reason. LOL
Just thought I'd let you all know the Baby Robin didn't make it. I think it was just too young! Poor lil tyke!
Sorry to hear that ves.
