Need confirmation on 2 Skipper ID's...

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

I had posted my request over in the Insect ID forum. Another member suggested I post my request here.
Ok...well, I've gotten really good IDing butterflies and moths after only a couple of years. However, once in awhile I do get stuck and it frustrates me because I do everything possible to ID all my sightings myself...including helping others ID too.
I have 2 Skipper pics. One I believe is a Grizzled Skipper and the other a Common Checkered Skipper. Here are the 2 pics.
After going through all my reference books and online at the link below, I believe this one is the Grizzled Skipper...

And this one is the Common Checkered Skipper...

If I'm wrong, I'd like to know so I can correctly record my sightings. With the 1st pic, if it is a Grizzled Skipper, it is a VERY adventurous migrant since we live in NE and according to the Butterflies and Moths of North America site, and a few of my field guides, it is way out of it's range. Unfortunately, the only pic they had to offer was one with it's wings closed...big sigh.

Additionally, other skippers that came close to it's appearance don't range in this area either...like the Tropical Skipper.
It would be awesome to be able to have another "rare" sighting to add to our 2 others from last year...a Titan Sphinx Moth and a Large Orange Sulphur :)
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Susan

Susan:
Looks like your first photo is a female Common Checkered and the second is a male.

Hello Dale,

Thank you...bless your heart! I'm thrilled to get them out of my "unknown folder"....yay!
I knew that male/females vary in their appearance, yet for whatever reason, i didn't think to check that route when trying to ID these two...(bangs hand on forehead)...go figure.
I went back to the site I found the 'Grizzled Skipper' link above and found this link for the 'Common Checkered Skipper' showing males and females...

Thanks again so much Dale!!!
