I got this message from a cousin in Houston tonight. I live in TN so I can't give her much help as far as what her problem might be. Here is her problem and I would appreciate any ideas you might have so that I can help her.
Quote from cousin Fran: "Last summer the elm's leaves were small and slightly brittle which I attributed to not watering enough. This year a portion of the tree had leaves that were yellow and now that has spread to most of the tree, going from one side to the other, and the foliage is not as dense as normal. I seem to remember reading that yellow could be an iron deficiency. A nursery coop person said it was an iron problem, but also recommended a fertilizer "Dynamite". We have had a lot of rain in the past month or so - could that be leaching nutrients from the soil - which is mediocre at best."
Any help with be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Elena
Another person with a question concerning, What's wrong?
I just googled "elm tree disease" and found this site. They have a lot of different information on the site. http://www.elmcare.com/disease/elm_yellows.htm
