A friend just gave me the starter for Amish Friendship bread - I baked it last night and it was wonderful. Made me think about a bread my mother used to make at Christmas time. The same sort of thing that you needed a starter for but this one was fermented fruit. Think she started with a can of peaches or maybe fruit cocktail, sat on her counter for days while she stirred or added things everyday then finally baked it. It was moist and delicious. I never got the recipe from her. Anyone know what I am talking about or where I can find the recipe?
