Couple of Vege Questions

My bush beans are getting eaten alive.in my new raised bed garden. Remember this is the one that I started way to early and had to learn about cloches?

The beans are getting shriveled as if there was no water, I water nightly. The leaves are also distorted and appear to be starved for moisture. There looks as something is eating them, I put out another slug trap.

My edible pod peas and regular pod peas appear to be done. Leaves are dying off, a few of pods are left. Should I harvest whats left and pull these plants?

I'm also having problems with bush and pole beans. Very little growth and yellowing leaves. Don't know what's wrong but I'm beginning to suspect either some kind of nutrient deficiency or disease, rather than underwatering. As for your peas, I'd say they are over. Rather than pull them up, you might cut the plants off at soil level, leaving the roots and leaves to decompose where they are. This way the soil will continue to be fed without disturbing its structure. (An idea borrowed from synergistic gardening.)

I've had a terrible time with my bush beans as well this year. Pole beans came up quickly enough that they outran the slugs but the bush beans keep getting munched - I've tried two plantings now and have only a few anemic plants to show for it. To my shame I actually had to go buy some bush bean starts from a box store, sigh. As for the yellowing leaves, could it be a magnesium deficiency as is being discussed on the plant doctor thread?

And yes, peas are done now, it's too hot for them. Cut or pull.

I ended up reading up on it, and pulling the peas, only to find the pepper starts we had in there. So I got some 18" chicken wire and got the bush beans to stop shading the peppers. We will see how they do.

My fortex pole beans are doing so well the deer are eating them! :(

Our beans were overcrowded so I just composted them for a garlic patch or maybe some overwintering carrots.
